Japanese…. Why?
Being Korean and having taken Chinese for two years at Columbia, I thought it would be a great idea to learn Japanese, as it would be difficult for me to have an opportunity to learn after graduating from college. Although Japanese is very similar to Korean grammatically, it has been very challenging for me to learn Hiragana and speak confidently in Japanese. I am very excited to be taking Japanese with Matsui sensei who is very funny and is an expert at explaining everything very clearly. Japanese class is definitely my favorite class this semester, and I hope to confidently communicate with Japanese people and understand anime (without subtitles) after completing the class.

Let's study hard together, and learn as much Japanese as possible!
Hi
ReplyDeleteI did't know that Korean is similar to Japanese grammatically.
Hi!
DeleteYes, it is very similar in the sentence structure. Both Korean and Japanese place the verb at the end and use many different kinds of particles.
I promise you that if you were to decide to study Korean, you will have a slightly easier time learning due to the similarities between the two languages!
